摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal print head which is made compact in a sub-scanning direction while increasing a protruding height of a portion where heating resistors are arranged, from the surface of a substrate.SOLUTION: A thermal print head includes: a ceramic substrate 22, a glaze layer 25; heating resistors 26; electrode layers 28; and a protective film 29. The ceramic substrate 22 includes a protrusion 81 protruding from a flat principal surface 80 and extending along the principal surface 80. The protrusion 81 comprises: a skirt portion 83 protruding from the principal surface 80 side while reducing the width thereof; and an apex portion raised from the skirt portion 83. The glaze layer 25 is configured to cover the ceramic substrate 22 and have a ridge line farthest away from the principal surface 80 at a portion covering the protrusion 81. The heating resistors 26 are arranged on the surface of the glaze layer 25 at intervals in the extending direction of the ridge line. In the electrode layer 28, an electrode is formed which are connected to both ends of the heating resistor 26 to supply power to the heating resistor 26. The protective film 29 is configured to cover the heating resistors 26, the electrode layers 28, and the glaze layer 25.
