PURPOSE: A generator controlled by an inverter in an electric vehicle reduces fuel consumption by providing the minimum number of rotations according to a load amount. CONSTITUTION: An inverter (1) converts AC power outputted from a generator (3) into DC power and converts the DC power into AC power of a predetermined frequency again to provide the AC power to a load (2). A voltage detection unit (8) detects an output voltage of the inverter. A control unit (7) determines a load amount according to the output voltage of the inverter and controls fuel supplied to an engine (4) which drives the generator. The control unit determines the opening degree of a fuel valve (5) according to the detected load amount.
