A pot support (1) for a gas burner (8) comprises a pot support frame (2) for forming a base surface (17). The pot support frame (2) has at least two sections (4) which are bent away from the base surface (17) of the pot support (1), on which sections pot support fingers (5) projecting inwards are mounted to form a resting surface (6) for a cooking material container (16). A gas hob (10) has a hob plate (11), at least one gas burner (8) arranged in or on the hob plate (11), and a corresponding pot support (1) that is associated with the gas burner (8) and is mounted on the hob plate (11).
