PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a printer capable of making timing to increase a doctor pressure appropriate when the doctor pressure of a doctor blade to a plate cylinder is gradually increased, and a calculation method of the printable quantity.SOLUTION: A controller of a printer to calculate a printable quantity which is a length of a printable web W without a fog caused by the printer includes: a reception means 52 to receive an initial value of the doctor pressure of a doctor blade 24 to a plate cylinder 12 in the printer and a value of the skewness (Rsk) of the surface of the plate cylinder 12; a storage portion 60 to store a relation of the value of the doctor pressure and the value of the skewness to the printable quantity; and a calculation means 54 to calculate the initial value of the doctor pressure received by the reception means 52 and the printable quantity corresponding to the value of the skewness based on the relation stored in the storage portion 60.
