PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cooling fan from being broken owing to centrifugal force while reducing windage loss even when a rotary electric machine rotates at a high speed.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine includes a cooling fan 11 supported rotatably and coaxially with the rotary shaft 1 of a rotor 2 and torque transmission means of transmitting rotations of the rotor 2 to the cooling fan 11, and is configured to decrease in (the rotating speed of the cooling fan 11)/(the rotating speed of the rotor 2) as the rotating speed of the rotor 2 increases. In a structure such that the cooling fan 11 and rotary shaft 1 are not connected directly to each other and the rotations of the rotary shaft 1 are transmitted indirectly to the cooling fan 11, the torque transmission means rotates the cooling fan 11 at a rotating speed lower than the rotating speed of the rotary shaft 1 when the rotor 2 rotates at a high speed. |
