PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent organic EL element which minimizes light reflection occurring at a boundary between neighboring layers and has uniform and high permeability.SOLUTION: An organic EL element at least comprises: a first transparent substrate; a first transparent electrode among the first transparent electrode and an insulation layer which are formed on the first transparent substrate; a luminescent medium layer including at least an organic emitting layer formed on the first transparent electrode; a second transparent electrode formed on the luminescent medium layer; and an encapsulation layer including a protection layer, an adhesive layer and a second transparent substrate which are formed on the second transparent electrode. A difference in refraction indices between the substrate and the electrode adjacent to each other or between the electrode and the layer among the first transparent substrate, the first transparent electrode, the luminescent medium layer, the second transparent electrode and the encapsulation layer with respect to light in a wavelength dispersion region of not less than 440 nm and not more than 780 nm is 0.7 and under. |
