PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ergonomic handle assembly for an ultrasonic surgical instrument that provides ability of a user to comfortably access and operate multiple functions.SOLUTION: A surgical instrument hand assembly 102 includes housings 102a, 102b having a proximal end and a distal end. A proximal opening 156 is formed at the proximal end 102 of the housing.A distal opening is formed at the distal end of the housing. The proximal and distal openings define an axis in a longitudinal direction. A handle 122 extends downward from the axis in the longitudinal direction. The handle defines a proximal contacting surface 128, a saddle surface 130 and a stabilizing tail part 131. A trigger 120 is pivotally attached to the housing, and is pivotally movable with respect to the handle. |
