PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure required pushability and drawability, in a medical device having a wire coil composed of a wire of a non-circular cross-section such as a flat wire.SOLUTION: A medical device (catheter 10, for instance) includes an elongated and flexible medical device body 300 to be inserted into a body cavity. The medical device body 300 includes an elongated resin tube (sheath 16), and a wire coil 50 constituted by helically winding a wire 52 whose cross-sectional shape is non-circular. The medical device body 300 has a first section (distal end part 15, for instance) and a second section (proximal end part 17, for instance) which are the sections different from each other in the longitudinal direction. In the first section, on the outer side surface 52a of the wire 52, a peak part P positioned farthest from the axis of the medical device body 300 is positioned on a proximal end side from the center position C of the wire 52 in the longitudinal direction. In the second section, the peak part P is positioned on a distal end side from the center position C. |
