PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device capable of improving conversion efficiency by reducing parasitic capacitance.SOLUTION: A solid state image pickup device is characterized in that a photoelectric conversion portion comprising a photodiode PD and a floating diffusion FD are formed on a semiconductor substrate 1; a first gate electrode 13 includes at least the part of the floating diffusion FD and transfers electric charges to the floating diffusion FD; and a recessed portion 11A is formed by digging the semiconductor substrate 11 located under a second gate electrode 14 which resets electric charges of the floating diffusion FD. |
