[Class 36] For supporting insulators B carrying electric conductors or electric wire fencing, a disc washer C, preferably of metal, is provided and has a central hole C<3>, and spikes C<1> adapted to engage the supporting stake A. A flange c<4> preferably surrounds the hole c<3> and projects into the insulator, and the spikes c<1> preferably extend from an outer flange c and are connected by curved surfaces c<2>. The parts may be secured by a wood screw F, Fig. 7,. passed through an outer washer G and threaded into the stake, or as in Fig. 2, a flat or spherical outer washer D, with slit and bent tongues d<1>, may be provided, the parts being then secured by a doubled wire E the ends of which are passed through two holes in the washer D, through the insulator and washer C, and round the stake where the ends are twisted together, the washer D being then turned by a tool or coin engaged with the tongues d<1> to.twist the wire and tighten the assembly. The recess b<1> in the insulator may be omitted. |
