550,246. Coating wires. DURATUBE & WIRE, Ltd., and VEIT, J. March 25, 1941, No. 4036. [Class 401] Wires and like bodies are coated with a multicoloured coating by applying two or more differently coloured streams of thermoplastic material to the surface of the moving wire, the streams being arranged so that a complete coating round the wire exhibiting continuous differently coloured longitudinal portions is obtained. The wire may be rotated to provide helical strips. As shown three streams of thermoplastic material issue through tubes 5 and outlets 6 from feeding chambers 1, 2, 3 heated by steam or hot-water jackets 4, on to the wire 7. The flow of thermoplastic material is regulated by cocks 8.
