PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger that can restrain battery consumption of an electronic key.SOLUTION: A charger 4 monitors the presence of an object placed on it by intermittently transmitting a placed object detection radio wave Ws, and transmits an authentication radio wave Wa when there is a placed object. The charger 4 also performs authentication whether the placed object is a device to be charged 5 or not by transmitting the authentication radio wave Wa, and charges a battery 50 of the device to be charged 5 without contact by transmitting a charging radio wave Wc if the authentication is established. Here, if the authentication is not established, the charger 4 restrains transmitting the authentication radio wave Wa until the placed object is removed from the charger 4. |
