PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide thermal transfer foil in which the durability of a decorative layer of a decorative molding article is improved, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: Thermal transfer foil has a substrate, a non-patterned layer, and a coloring material layer on one surface of the substrate in this order. The coloring material layer covers a non-patterned portion of the non-patterned layer, and an circumferential edge portion of the coloring material layer does not contact with the circumferential edge thermally transferred to a body to be transferred.
