PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable adjustment to a specific display characteristic even in use for many hours.SOLUTION: A display apparatus 1 comprises an LCD 14 and a CPU 10 that controls the LCD 14. The display device 1 comprises: an integrating section configured to integrate the operating times of the LCD 14 and store the result thereof; a luminance correction table 19 configured to correlate a relation between the operating times of the LCD 14 and its corresponding luminance correction value and store them; and a luminance adjusting section configured such that a luminance correction value corresponding to the operating times of the LCD 14, integrated by the integrating section, is obtained with reference to the luminance correction table 19 and a luminance control signal supplied from the CPU 10 to the LCD 14 is corrected based on the luminance correction value.
