PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for nasal irrigation for the use of irrigating and rinsing a nasal cavity and anatomical ostia to the nasal cavity.SOLUTION: A nasal irrigation device 10 includes a source 12 of saline solution, a waste liquid receptacle 14, a nasal interface, a vacuum source, a fluid passageway to communicate the source of saline solution with the waste liquid receptacle through the nasal interface 38 and a nasal cavity of a user, and an assembly of a switch and a valve for selectively controlling the vacuum source and flow of the saline solution through the fluid passageway. A bottle of the saline solution source is disposed relative to the device to induce the saline solution by gravity to the nasal interface, which is the device, fitted with the user's nostrils. A combination of the gravitational inducement and relative vacuum to the waste liquid receptacle generates a fluid flow for irrigating, cleaning and massaging the nasal cavity and ostia of the user. |
