PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of increasing the accuracy in stopping a turret by a relatively simple system.SOLUTION: An endoscope system includes: an imaging element for imaging a subject illuminated with illumination light guided by a light guide means; a measuring light means for generating and outputting a measuring light signal from an imaging signal; a turret 34 provided with an optical filter for transmitting the illumination light; a detector 40 for detecting the position of the turret 34; a drive means 35 for driving the turret 34; a storage means for storing information for driving the turret 34; an instruction means for giving an instruction to the storage means to store the information for driving the turret 34; and a turret control means for outputting a drive signal to turn the turret 34 once according to the instruction of the instruction means to the drive means 35, and storing a detection value from the detector 40 at which the measuring light value from the measuring light means is a maximum value in the storage means while the turret 34 turns once.
