The invention relates to a method for introducing protective gas that is located in a container which is arranged in the evacuated annular space of an absorber tube between its outer sleeve tube and inner metal tube. The container is opened by means of a laser drilling method, in which the laser beam is guided from outside through the sleeve tube onto the container, and the container is irradiated until an opening forms in the container and the protective gas is released.
