An ECU (60) controls a throttle valve opening degree to a first opening degree when an engine (10) is in an idling state using a gaseous fuel. The ECU (60) determines whether or not there is a deceleration request while the vehicle is traveling using gaseous fuel. When it is determined that there is a deceleration request, a fuel cut is implemented for stopping the supply of fuel to the engine (10), and during a throttling control time which is at least part of the fuel cut implementation time, the throttle opening degree is controlled to be nearer to closing than the first opening degree. When the vehicle decelerates while the gaseous fuel is being used, sufficient booster negative pressure can be ensured by comparatively simple control.
