The present invention relates generally to devices used to anchor, secure or stabilise earthen formations, such as the roof or side walls of an underground mine or tunnel. Devices of this type are usually referred to by many names including friction stabilisers, rock stabiliser, rock-bolt, roof-bolt, friction stabiliser or split-set bolt. In one form, the invention relates to a stabiliser improvement that reduces known difficulties associated with such devices and/or an improved method as installation of stabilisers.
