PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of a retardation film which is capable of simply evaluating solvent resistance and reworkability of a retardation film, a manufacturing method of a retardation film which is capable of manufacturing a retardation film superior in solvent resistance and reworkability by using the evaluation method, and a retardation film superior in solvent resistance and reworkability.SOLUTION: The evaluation method of a retardation film includes: a step of preparing a retardation film having an alignment layer and a retardation layer laminated in this order on one surface side of a triacetyl cellulose substrate; a step of dropping a solvent to a surface on the side where the retardation layer is laminated, of the retardation film and measuring the time elapsed until detection of the solvent from a surface on the triacetyl cellulose substrate side of the retardation film to calculate an average solvent penetration time in a laminate comprising the alignment layer and the retardation layer; and a step of evaluating the retardation film on the basis of the calculated average solvent penetration time.
