PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fuel consumption and reduce noise in a cooling fan.SOLUTION: A work machine includes an engine; a radiator; a coolant temperature detection means; an outside air detection means; a thermostat opening and closing a path in between a fully closed state and a fully open state according to coolant temperature; a cooling fan ventilating outside air to the radiator; a hydraulic pump; a hydraulic motor driven by pressure oil discharged from the hydraulic pump to rotate the cooling fan; a rotation speed setting means for setting a target rotation speed in accordance with the coolant temperature on the basis of a control characteristic matching the coolant temperature with the target rotation speed of the cooling fan; a rotation speed adjustment means for adjusting an actual rotation speed of the fan such that the actual rotation speed of the fan becomes the target rotation speed set by the rotation speed setting means; and a control characteristic decision means for deciding the control characteristic such that the target rotation speed set by the coolant temperature becomes a different value according to the outside air temperature within a range of the coolant temperature where the thermostat changes from the fully closed state to the fully open state.
