The method involves providing a clutch (6) between the internal combustion engine (2) and the electrical machine (3) to perform hybrid creeping of the combustion engine in traction. The clutch is not operated in slipping mode, and the starting element (7) is operated in slipping mode. The starting element is temporarily moved to the clutch by creep slipping operation, when the starting element is not operated in slipping mode as a consequence of thermal overloading, so that slip at end of starting element is reduced and the slip of clutch is established. An independent claim is included for control device of hybrid vehicle.
