PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in the melt flow rate of a polymer produced at an initial stage after the start of polymerization, to reduce the production amount of a polymer which is out of a standard due to too high melt flow rate to thereby improve productivity.SOLUTION: A method for producing an olefin polymer includes sequentially carrying out a process (1) of introducing polymer particles and an organometallic compound into a gas phase fluidized bed type reactor, forming a fluidized bed and maintaining it; a process (2) of discharging the polymer particles and the organometallic compound having formed of the fluidized bed in the process (1) from the gas phase fluidized bed type reactor; a process (3), after discharging the polymer particles and the organometallic compound in the process (2), of introducing seed polymer particles to the gas phase fluidized bed type reactor to form a fluidized bed; and a process (4), after forming the fluidized bed in the process (3), of introducing an olefin and a catalyst for olefin polymerization into the gas phase fluidized bed type reactor to start olefin polymerization. |
