PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a filtering method, capable of filtering processing of a received packet without deteriorating overall device processing performance.SOLUTION: A communication device 1 includes a hardware filtering table 51 indicating at least one session ID, and a software filtering table 42 indicating correspondence between at least one application ID corresponding to each of a plurality of applications and the session ID. The communication device 1 performs hardware filtering for relaying as a relay packet, to a subsequent stage, only a packet including the session ID indicated in the hardware filtering table 51 among packets incoming through a communication network 60, and also performs software filtering for transferring the relay packet to only an application corresponding to a session ID included in the relay packet. |
