PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding component and a method for manufacturing the sliding component, which can maintain low sliding resistance even when a surface pressure in a sliding part increases, and thereby, which can stabilize operation characteristics.SOLUTION: A sliding component 10 includes a substrate 18 comprising a porous body; and the substrate 18 is impregnated with a liquid fuel 20. A method for manufacturing the sliding component 10 includes an immersion step of immersing the substrate 18 comprising a porous body in the liquid fuel 20 in a treatment container 24, and a pressure-impregnation step of impregnating the substrate 18 with the liquid fuel 20 by introducing a pressurizing gas 30 into the treatment container 24 to pressurize. |
