The invention relates to a method for electrodynamic braking of a universal motor, comprising the following steps during a braking operation: permanent determination of a speed of the universal motor; temporary, periodic short-circuiting of an armature of the universal motor by means of a semiconductor switch, wherein trigger angles of the semiconductor switch are controlled by means of a control device in such a way that the speed is adjusted to a speed of a target speed curve, with minimal deviation therefrom. |
