PURPOSE: A step lamp signal generator and an image sensor are provided to prevent a missing code generated by the inconsistency with each step. CONSTITUTION: A lamp signal generator includes a counter (110), a current mirror (120), and a lamp signal generating unit (200). The counter is an N-bit current counter. The counter outputs a bit combination having a maximal value for setting a first step lamp signal to the lamp signal generation unit through a current mirror. The lamp signal generation unit comprises 4 matching resistances (R1-R4). The first matching resistance is connected to the ground. A maximal voltage is stored in response to a first signal and is applied to the other end of the second matching resistance.
