PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly active catalyst component for producing a polymer with a relatively high molecular weight and a method for producing an α-olefin polymer or a copolymer of an α-olefin and a (meth)acrylic acid ester with few branching and with crystallinity by using the new highly active catalyst component.SOLUTION: Use of a metal complex catalyst represented by a general formula (A) is provided, wherein M represents a transition metal of group 9, 10 or 11 of the periodic table; Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group; Lrepresents a ligand coordinating with M; Xrepresents oxygen or sulphur; Erepresents phosphorus, arsenic or antimony; Rand Rare a hydrocarbon group optionally containing a 1-40C heteroatom; R, R, Rand Reach independently represent a hydrocarbon group or the like optionally containing a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, and a 1-30C heteroatom. |
