PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transfer apparatus and an image scanning apparatus capable of preventing a user from being confused upon discharging a sheet and clearing jam.SOLUTION: A discharge cover 4 is disposed in a casing 2 so as to be openable and closable. A discharge port 5 is formed when the cover 4 is in an opened state. In this state, a sheet transferred on a one-way path 42 is discharged from the discharge port 5. A maintenance cover 6 is disposed in the casing 2 so as to be openable and closable. A return path 41 and the one-way path 42 are exposed when the maintenance cover 6 is in an opened state. When sheet jam occurs in either of the return path 41 and the one-way path 42, the jam can be cleared by opening the maintenance cover 6. Since the discharge cover 4 and the maintenance cover 6 are separately provided, a user can easily understand respective uses of the discharge cover 4 and the maintenance cover 6. |
