PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition suitable for preparing an air-dry aqueous rustproof coating material composition capable of forming a rustproof coating film having an excellent adhesive property to an oil surface and physical properties of coating film, an air-dry aqueous rustproof coating material composition prepared using the aqueous resin composition and a rustproof coating film formed by application of the air-dry rustproof coating material composition.SOLUTION: An aqueous resin composition comprises an aqueous resin obtained by reacting 20-90 mass% of one or more reactive components selected from the group consisting of an alkyd resin (B), specific oils and fats and a processed product of oils and fats with 10-80 mass% of a polymerizable vinyl monomer (C), and has an oil length of 20-70. An air-dry aqueous rustproof coating material composition comprises the aqueous resin composition. A rustproof coating film is obtained by using the air-dry aqueous rustproof coating material composition.
