PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical glass having higher devitrification resistance regardless of its refractive index (n) and Abbe number (&ngr;) being within the desired range, and an optical element using the same.SOLUTION: An optical glass contains, in mass%, 1.0-30.0% of a BOcomponent and 10.0-60.0% of an LaOcomponent, and has a content of a ZnO component of ≤20.0% and an Abbe number (&ngr;) satisfying the relationship of (&ngr;)≥(-100×n+227.0) between its Abbe number (&ngr;) and refractive index (n). An optical element uses the optical glass as a base material. |
