PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely enable the continuation of an operation service while preventing an increase in a swing of a rope without shifting to an emergency operation if a building quakes.SOLUTION: A controller 22 of an elevator includes a member 31 estimating a swing of a rope to estimate an amount of a swing of a rope based on an amount of a quake of a building detected by an acceleration sensor 23 and on the position of a car 14, a damping-floor setting member 32a setting a floor capable of damping the swing of the rope when the amount of the swing of the rope is equal to or larger than a prescribed amount as a damping floor, and an operation control member 32 allowing the car 14 to travel to an intended floor subsequent to the carrying-out of a rope-damping operation of moving the car 14 to the damping floor if the damping floor set by the damping-floor setting member 32a is present in the traveling direction of the car 14. |
