PURPOSE: A liquid crystal composition reduces the driving voltage of a liquid crystal diode and the electricity consumption of a liquid crystal display diode. CONSTITUTION: A compound is represented by chemical formula G1. In chemical formula G1, k is 2 or 3; n and m are independently an integer from 1-20; and R^1 and R^2 are independently hydrogen or a methyl group. A liquid crystal composition includes the compound, a nematic liquid crystal, and a chiral agent or includes nematic liquid crystal, a chiral agent, and a compound represented by chemical formula H1. In the chemical formula H1, n and m are independently an integer from 1-20; and R^1 and R^2 are independently hydrogen or a methyl group.
