<p>PURPOSE: Dual carrier separation is provided to transfer from single carrier mode to dual carrier mode upon completion of synchronization by a single carrier radio frequency signal while maintaining the synchronization. CONSTITUTION: A circuitry receives dual carrier radio frequency signals including first carrier data which is transmitted from a base station and second carrier data which is transmitted by the base station. A demodulator (213) generates a baseband dual carrier signal based on the dual carrier radio frequency signal. A first filter (219) suppresses adjacent carrier frequencies in order to separate the first carrier data from the baseband dual carrier signal. A second filter (226) suppresses adjacent carrier frequencies in order to separate the second carrier data from the baseband dual carrier signal.
