PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical film which reduces dirt transfer and point-like failure and is excellent in surface smoothness, and to provide a polarizing plate using the optical film manufactured by the manufacturing method, and to provide a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an optical film includes: a casting process of extruding a molten material containing thermoplastic resin to a surface of a rotating support body from a casting die; a pinching process of pinching the molten material extruded in the casing process by a pinching part of the rotating support body and a pinching rotating body; and an exhausting process of exhausting gas generated from molten resin. An exhaust amount in the exhausting process is changed in response to a film forming speed.
