PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool and method of assembling a bearing device for a railroad vehicle axle, capable of mounting the bearing device for the railroad vehicle axle on an axle while pressurizing the device.SOLUTION: A front plate 32 is disposed outside a front cover 18 at a free end side of an inner ring 15 of a double row tapered roller bearing 17, while a rear plate 33 is disposed outside a back cover 19 at a wheel side. A spring 34a is attached to a rod 35a of the front plate 32 and to a rod 36a of the rear plate 33, while a spring 34b is attached to a rod 35b of the front plate 32 and to a rod 36b of the rear plate 33. An axle 14 is press-fitted into a bearing device 14 for a railroad vehicle axle, while elastic force of the springs 34a, 34b is applied to the bearing device 14 via the front plate 32 and the rear plate 33. |
