The holder (1) has an extension (3) guided with a sliding guide, and a container support (6) guided with a vertical guide (7) at the extension in a raised manner. The container support laterally supports a beverage container adjusted into the holder. A drive i.e. link control, lifts the container support if the extension is moved out and lowers the container support if the extension is pushed in. An automatic latch (13) and a back holder (15) lock the container support in a raised position and unlock the container support by insertion of the extension.
