<p>Disclosed are a method and device for providing a short message service. The method comprises: an SGSN receiving a request for a mobility management service sent by a terminal; the SGSN acquiring subscription data corresponding to the terminal, wherein an indication of a PS only service is carried in the subscription data; and when the SGSN supports providing a short message service for the terminal via NAS signalling, according to the subscription data, the SGSN determining that the terminal has attached to a PS network successfully, and providing the short message service for the terminal by means of the PS network. The adoption of the present invention can solve the problem that in the process of providing a service for a terminal, the interaction of a PS network and a CS network exists inevitably, and relative to a single network, the cross-network interaction is complex to implement and will cause a waste of resources.</p> |
