PURPOSE: An information providing system using NFC and a control method thereof are provided to prevent unnecessary data charging by selecting necessary advertisements only and checking the details through a user terminal. CONSTITUTION: An NFC tag (24) includes the native code and connected URL information of a media terminal (20). A control server (30) matches the information of the media terminal into the native code of the media terminal and stores and manages the information. A user terminal (10) acquires the native code and the URL information from the NFC tag, connects to the control server using the URL information, sends the native code, and requests information. The control server extracts the information of the media terminal matched to the native code upon a request from the user terminal and sends the extracted information to the user terminal.
