PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission system in which heat generation of a foreign material nor deterioration of power transmission efficiency does not occur, when electric energy is transmitted via an electromagnetic field from a power transmission antenna to a power receiving antenna.SOLUTION: A power transmission system comprises: a power-transmitting side voltage step-up/step-down part 120 for stepping up or stepping down a DC voltage to output the DC voltage; an inverter part 130 for converting the DC voltage from the power-transmitting side voltage step-up/step-down part 120 to an AC voltage and to output the AC voltage; a power-transmitting side control part 150 for controlling a drive frequency in the inverter part 130 and controlling electric power being output from the inverter part 130; a power transmission antenna 140 to which the AC voltage from the inverter part 130 is input; and a power receiving antenna 210. When actually executing a power transmission, the power-transmitting side control part 150 determines the presence of a foreign material between the power transmission antenna 140 and the power receiving antenna 210, on the basis of the drive frequency in the inverter part 130 and of the DC voltage and DC current being output from the power-transmitting side voltage step-up/step-down part 120. |
