PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile fabric which has appropriate stiffness and flexibility and enables a cleaning tool excellent in cleaning capability to be obtained therefrom, and which can prevent removed dirt from adhering to an object to be cleaned again by retaining the removed dirt and can release the retained dirt quickly when the cleaning tool is cleaned after use.SOLUTION: A pile fabric 1 comprises a ground weave 2 and pile yarns 3. The pile yarns 3 are each a multifilament having a single fiber fineness of 4-10 dtex. Two to six of the pile yarns are arranged in each mesh of the ground weave. The ratio of the cross-sectional area of each pile yarn 3 close to the ground weave to an apparent cross-sectional area at the tip of each pile yarn is 1:1.2 to 1:1.8. |
