PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To a novel palladium catalyst in which palladium (Pd) is used as a catalyst active component, and which can purify CO and THC with high efficiency even under a fuel-rich atmosphere having a high space velocity (SV).SOLUTION: A palladium catalyst comprises a base and a catalyst layer that contains palladium as a catalyst active component, an inorganic porous material as a catalyst carrier and ceria (CeO2) particles as an auxiliary catalyst component, and is characterized in that the mass ratio of the content of palladium in the catalyst layer to the content of ceria particles in the catalyst layer (i.e., Pd/CeO2) is 0.0014 to 0.6000. |
