A barbeque grill assembly (10) comprising a grill plate (12) and a cooking insert (14). The grill plate (12) has a substantially planar first cooking surface (26) with an opening (28) therein. The cooking insert (14) is adapted for releasable engagement with the opening (28) and has a substantially planar second cooking surface (42). The first cooking surface (26) and the second cooking surface (42) are non-parallel with respect to each other.
