PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a discrepancy in photosensitivity caused by manufacturing errors between phase difference detection pixel pairs.SOLUTION: An image sensor comprises: a semiconductor substrate 60 in which a plurality of pixels separated from adjacent pixels by a pixel boundary portion 63 are formed in shape of a two-dimensional array on a light-receiving surface; a pupil dividing microlens 50, disposed every two adjacent pixels or every four most adjacent pixels, which turns the two adjacent pixels or the four most adjacent pixels into phase difference detection pixels; intermediate layers 65, 66 and 67 which are laminated between the pupil dividing microlens 50 and the semiconductor substrate 60; and an incident light scattering medium 70 which is disposed on an optical path linking the pixel boundary portion 63 of a plurality of phase difference detection pixels receiving incident light focused by the pupil dividing microlens 50 and the center position of the pupil dividing microlens 50 and in the intermediate layers. |
