PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of deodorizing malodor in an environment where a floor surface is wetted by urine or a liquid that can generate putrid odor and the malodor is generated, and to provide a deodorization mat set.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of deodorizing malodor, the method being a deodorization method in an environment where a floor surface is wetted by urine or a liquid that can generate putrid odor and the malodor is generated. In the method, a lower mat 2 having both of a liquid absorbing/holding function and a moisture evaporating function is spread on a floor surface, an upper mat 3 formed of a rigid material without water absorbability and provided with a plurality of liquid permeable holes is mounted on the lower mat. A culture solution 4 to which aerobic microorganisms having both of a deodorization function and a sporulation function are added is periodically or voluntarily sprayed. In order to control the water content of the lower mat to be in the optimum range of the growth of the aerobic microorganisms, the absorbing/holding function and the moisture evaporating function of the lower mat and the spray amount of the culture solution are set according to the spilling amount on the lower mat of the urine or the liquid that can generate the putrid odor. |
