A method for manufacturing a wheel blank comprises setting an initial blank with simultaneous or subsequent spreading metal from its central part to the peripheral part, preparation of a part of rim and outer side surface of the blank, narrowing towards the periphery, as well as obtaining therefrom of a wheel blank in molding dies. At the initial stage in the molding dies the set and enlarged blank is brought in translational and rotational movement on the die rounding, forming an arc of connection of the rim with the disk from the inside of wheel blank, up to alignment of the blank axis with the axis of dies, and then plastic deformation of the metal is carried out. During deformation of the metal the inner side of wheel blank is formed from the side of set and enlarged blank with the preformed part of rim, the diameter Dof the outer side surface of set and enlarged axisymmetric blank is equal to: 0.96D≤D≤0.98D, where D- maximum diameter of the outer side surface of set and enlarged axisymmetric blank; D- diameter of the forming ring at a point along its height corresponding to the minimum gap between the set and enlarged axisymmetric blank and forming ring, as measured along the normal to the working surface of the ring at coaxial arrangement of the blank and forming dies. |
