A device for transferring hinge locations from a door to a door jamb comprises an elongate element 10 which has adjacent one end a first stop surface 30 and a second stop surface 32, facing the opposite direction to the first stop surface and spaced a short distance therefrom. The elongate element also comprises a plurality of markers 26 spaced apart along the element. The first and second stop surfaces may be provided by an adjustable end stop 28 which may allow a spacing between the top, or bottom, of the door and its frame or the adjacent floor to be set. The elongate member may be formed in three sections 10a, 10b, 10c which may be assembled together. Each section may have a slot 12a, 12b, 12c in which a marker element 18a, 18b, 18c may be slideable and may be locked in position by a screw 24. The device may be provided in combination with a support block (42, fig 6) which may be used to support the door during marking and installation and may comprise a storage compartment (40, fig 6) for the device. |
