PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal material and a seal structure using the seal material, which do not lose the adhesion of the seal material adhering to either of joint surfaces of one joint segment and the other one. SOLUTION: A block-shaped cross-section head 2 and a plate-shaped cross-section base 3 continuing into the bottom of the head via a connecting portion 4 are integrally formed by extrusion molding; in a natural state, one surface 2a of the head 2 and one surface 3a of the base 3 along the joint surface of the segment are formed in such a shape as to continue linearly in a width direction; and one groove 5 and the other one 6, which continue in a longitudinal direction, are formed on the one surface of the connecting portion 4 and the other one thereof, respectively.
