PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material being excellent in heat resistance, wettability with other materials, strength and elastic modulus and useful as a reinforcing material for a composite material, a waste gas filtering material or the like. SOLUTION: An amorphous inorganic ceramic material contains silicon, carbon and oxygen, and average elemental ratios of the silicon, carbon and oxygen are represented by a composition formula of SiC<SB>a</SB>O<SB>b</SB>(1) (wherein, 0.5≤a≤3.0 and 0.5≤b≤4.0) and the material has a siloxane skeleton consisting of Si-O-Si bond and a mass fraction of hydrogen is 0-1 mass%.
