PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lipase inhibitory activity or an antioxidant component using an extract of a biological material which has long been used in subtropical regions and Okinawa, specigying drying conditions and extraction conditions for both activities to work at the same time, to provide a safe drug and cosmetic not only preventing obesity and acne but also reducing an oxidative stress in the living body leading to reduce risks causing skin spots and blemishes, and further causal factors of such as malignant neoplasm (cancer). SOLUTION: The anti-obesity agent, a lipase inhibitor, an antioxidant, and the cosmetics including the lipase inhibitory activity or the antioxidant components are provided, using at least one or more extracts of biological materials selected from the group consisting of Polygonum cuspidatum, Phaseolus vulgaris, Caesalpinia pulcherrima, Syzygium samarangense, Ficus microcarpa, Alpinia zerumbet, Heritiera littoralis, Kalanchoe pinnata, Blumea balsamifera, Nandina domestica, Carthamus tinctorius, Cassia glauca, Terminalia catappa, and Pinus luchuensis.
